Procurement Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join us at our modern manufacturing facility based near Morecambe on a full time, permanent basis, easily accessible from the motorway network.

As our Procurement manager, you will be responsible for providing the day-to-day management for the procurement of contracts and all other procurement activity in a manufacturing business, ideally having strategic and operational procurement expertise.

As Procurement Manager you will have leadership experience/potential, gravitas and be able to foster excellent relationships through stakeholder engagement - Manufacturing, Engineering, NPI, Site Directors etc.
Ensuring procurement enable the delivery of organisational objectives.
Ensuring the ongoing development and implementation of systems, procedures, and protocols to enable effective management of procurement.
Work collaboratively to provide procurement expertise to enable the drafting of contracts, contract variations, extensions, and associated documents.
Lead on activities relating to engagement with the supply chain and ensuring best practice supplier relationship management is in place and applied, to ensure that market engagement is optimised.
Maintain a detailed knowledge and awareness of legislation, policy, practice, and procedures in procurement.
Support NPI activities from a procurement perspective.
Training, supervision, and line management of a Senior Procurement Co-ordinator.
Lead on the development of the Procurement pipeline and associated MI to analyse spend activity to identify opportunities to consolidate spend and optimise buying power.
Achievement of cost-down and cost-reduction objectives.
Day to day responsibility for procurement management of a range of goods, taking appropriate action to address identified issues and to inform relevant colleagues of any concerns, escalating to the Head of Operations where necessary.


Experienced as a Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain Manager.
Previous experience of drafting and implementing operational processes and procedures.
Procurement experience at a strategic managerial level in a manufacturing or engineering business.
Experience of team management and development.
Strong communication skills in producing quality documentation including tender documentation, presentations and reports ensuring they are suitable for a range of different audiences.
Good knowledge of MRP and ability to drive supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
Degree, MCIPS or deep procurement experience within the relevant fields.

This role is office based at our site in Morecambe.
Mon, Tue, Thu (7:30 am - 4:30 pm), Wed (7.00 am - 4.00 pm) and Fri (7.00 am - 2.45pm)
