Secured by Design (SbD) is the name given to a group of national police projects focussed on designing security for new and refurbished homes, commercial premises and car parks. It acknowledges quality security products and crime prevention projects and supports the principles of ‘designing out crime’ through physical security and processes.
Secured by Design works with the industry and test houses, creating high level security standards and responding to trends in crime. It has contributed to a number of key standards, which have been proven to reduce the risk and fear of crime.
SbD measures are designed to improve neighbourhood security and safety and help local communities to flourish. Providing stronger, safer places to live and work. Secured by Design is recognised nationally as an essential element of the regeneration and design process.
In order to achieve the Secured by Design designation, our door set had to undergo and pass the organisations tough testing programme. A process made more tricky by our inclusion of vision panels. All our door configurations exceeded the test criteria.
