At Strongdor, we’re proud to have once again demonstrated our commitment to community support by successfully participating in St John’s Hospice’s 50-50-500 Challenge, an inspiring initiative that encourages local businesses like ours to raise vital funds for hospice care.
Following our successful fundraising campaign last year, we’re thrilled to share that we not only met but exceeded our fundraising target for the second consecutive year, raising an impressive total of £1621.14. This effort is just one part of our broader commitment to giving back, with St John’s Hospice being one of five incredible organisations we’re supporting throughout the year.
To help reach our fundraising goal, we hosted a customer raffle for a BBQ breakfast, personally cooked and served by Sales Director Leon White. Internally, we also held a silent auction for staff where they could bid on locally donated prizes, organised and led by our amazing team members.
St John’s Hospice provides essential, free care to patients and families. across the local area, extending into South Lakes and parts of North Yorkshire. Their services include inpatient end-of-life care, Hospice at Home support, clinical nurse specialists, respite care, and bereavement counselling. With only a quarter of funding coming from the government, the remaining support depends heavily on donations and local fundraising like ours.
Tim Devenish, Global CEO of Strongdor, commented: “It’s incredibly important for us at Strongdor to give back to the community that supports us. St John’s Hospice has touched the lives of many within our team, and we’re proud to help them continue their outstanding work.”
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our efforts this year. As we look ahead to 2025, we remain committed to further charitable efforts, with plans already in place to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, Wolfwood Lancaster, and the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
