Performance Ratings Explained

Size Limit for Performance Ratings

The performance ratings for:

• Watertightness
• Resistance to Wind Load
• Air Permeability

Are only valid when the door leaf is up to 2190 mm high and 1196 mm wide. If either dimension is larger, the performance is automatically recorded as NPD. (No Performance Determined).

Water-tightness

When the rating will always be Class 0

• Any door with a louvre
• Any door without a threshold
• Any door with a double ramped threshold
• Any door with a 96 mm threshold

These configurations cannot achieve a watertight rating above Class 0.

Watertightness for doors with AM3 or AM5 thresholds

• Double inward opening with any mortice latched lock → Class 3A
• Double outward opening with any mortice latched lock (including panic mortice locks like 379
• or Mico Modula) → Class 2A
• Double inward or outward with top and bottom V locks → Class 1A
• Single inward or outward with any mortice latched lock or two V locks → Class 3A

Resistance To Wind Load

Doors with a centre lock (any type) and any threshold (AM3, AM5, 96 mm)

• Double inward or outward → Class C2

Doors with V locks and any threshold

• Double inward or outward → Class A3

Single doors (inward or outward) with centre lock or V lock

• With any threshold → Class C3

Louvred doors or doors without a threshold / with double ramped threshold

• Single or double → Class A2

Resistance To Wind Load

Doors with a centre lock (any type) and any threshold (AM3, AM5, 96 mm)

• Double inward or outward → Class C2

Doors with V locks and any threshold

• Double inward or outward → Class A3

Single doors (inward or outward) with centre lock or V lock

• With any threshold → Class C3

Louvred doors or doors without a threshold / with double ramped threshold

• Single or double → Class A2
