Strongdor Raises the Bar for Internal Fire and Smoke-Rated Steel Doors

Strongdor Internal Fire and Smoke Rated Steel Doors

At Strongdor, we've always believed that fire safety and accessibility should never be a compromise. That's why we're proud to announce the latest addition to our industry-leading range: a certified internal smoke and fire-rated steel door, setting a new benchmark for performance, compliance, and inclusivity.

Engineered to deliver E120 fire integrity and smoke control classified to Sa4, this new door has been independently tested and certified, offering specifiers, contractors, and building owners confidence where it matters most.

Performance You Can Rely On

Fire door certification isn't a box-ticking exercise, it's a life-safety commitment. Our new internal steel fire door has been independently fire and smoke tested, achieving an integrity rating of up to E120 and Sa4 smoke classification. Buying the critical time needed for building evacuation and emergency response.

With test assessment EUI-24-000092 in place, architects, fire engineers, and contractors can specify with full confidence that this door-set meets the demands of today's stringent building regulations.

No Threshold. No Compromise.

One of the most significant advances in this new steel door is its no-threshold design. Traditional fire doors have long relied on raised thresholds to achieve their fire and smoke ratings, a practical solution, but one that sometimes can create challenges for patients on trolleys, equipment on wheels, and anyone with reduced mobility.

We set out to solve that. Through careful engineering and rigorous testing, we've achieved a certified smoke and fire rating without the need for a threshold when supplied with a drop seal. Delivering a flush, level and fully accessible floor interface without sacrificing performance.

Fully DDA-Compliant

Compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) is more than a legal requirement, it's a responsibility to the people who use these buildings every day. Our new internal steel fire door has been designed from the ground up to meet DDA requirements, ensuring that high-traffic routes remain fully navigable for all users.

For building owners and facilities managers, this means you no longer have to choose between a certified fire door and an accessible one. You can have both.

Designed for the Environments That Demand the Most

Internal environments with high footfall, vulnerable occupants, or strict compliance requirements demand doors that go the extra mile. This new door has been developed with those environments in mind:

Raising the Standard for Internal Fire Door Specification

This launch is a reflection of where we believe the industry needs to go, towards fire protection that is certified and built without compromise. For too long, specifiers have had to navigate between fire performance and accessibility. This door removes that entirely.

As a bespoke UK manufacturer committed to quality, compliance, and continuous innovation, we're proud to bring this steel door to market at a time when building safety regulations are rightly under the spotlight. Whether you're specifying for a new-build hospital, retrofitting a residential block, or upgrading a busy internal corridor, this door delivers the performance and peace of mind your project deserves.

Fire doors aren’t all the same. For the moment, legislation treats steel internal fire doors and external steel fire doors as two separate products, and they must be handled accordingly. Lets first take a look at the reason why internal and external doors need to be differentiated.
